50 years in a (almost) blink of an eye
First, I’d like to thank John McKenna for passing along an invitation to attend the SHS 1974 50th class reunion.
While I did not graduate from Spaulding, I did attend Rochester schools for many years and know quite a few of members of the class. I also remember attending your graduation with old friend Kim Clark – who, like me, attended school with many of you for years but did not get to graduate from SHS.
I did graduate from STA in 1974.and UNH in 1978. My first job out of college was with a bank out of Conway, NH, doing commercial and personal loans.
After being in Conway for a few months, I moved on and began a career in IT with Liberty Mutual. Between Liberty and Lockheed-Sanders (now BAE Systems) I was in IT for 42 years. I retired in April, 2021.
I have lived in several places throughout NH and MA. In addition to Conway, I lived in Greenland, Newmarket, Derry, Merrimack, Stratham and Newburyport. For the last 10 years I have resided in Portsmouth, NH with my partner of 15 years Deb.
I raised my family mostly in Stratham, where I was active in Scouts as well as coaching soccer and baseball. My son Ross is a writer living in Brooklyn, NY. My daughter Camie lives more locally (South Berwick, ME) and has two children, a boy and a girl, ages four and two.
Since my retirement I have tried to stay active. We enjoy bike riding, walking and going to the gym. I have also taken up photography. My grandkids also keep me hopping whenever they visit. For years we had a second home in Sarasota, Florida, which we recently sold. We have also had the opportunity to do some traveling throughout Europe. Now that our place in Sarasota is sold, we are hoping to travel more within the US instead of being tied down to one place.
Looking forward to seeing you all in September!
